Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek for families is a short trek in the Annapurna region where you can enjoy the wonders of nature and culture of Nepal with your entire family. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is a low altitude and short trek which even the children can enjoy comfortably. This evergreen trekking course takes you to the beautiful ethnic villages and fulfills your desire to be in close proximity of the mighty snowcapped Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with children starts with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. After a short stay in the Kathmandu valley, featuring a visit to some of the prominent sites, the trip begins with a flight to Pokhara. The exquisite flight provides you with great views of the mountains, rivers, and lush hills. A quick drive from Pokhara takes you to Nayapul, from where you start trekking through the rich forest on flag-stone steps. The trail takes you past traditional villages, rice fields, and waterfalls as you trek through dense rhododendron and oak forests. One of the major highlights of this trek is the magnificent sunrise over the Himalayan ranges that can be witnessed from Poon Hill 3210m. Another highlight of this trek is a stopover in the Gurung village of Ghandruk. The local food, hospitable culture, and the scenic mountain views from Ghandruk are celebrated by all those who come here. Here, your children can enjoy dressing up in the traditional Gurung attire available in the Gurung Museum. Being a trek with moderate difficulty, the entire family can enjoy this trek.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Itinerary 
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1338m

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our company representative will welcome you at the airport. Then you will be transferred to the hotel in our company van. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley by private van
Today you will visit some of the popular sites of Kathmandu valley like the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath and the Buddhist shrines of Boudhanath and Swayambhunath. Your tour guide will give you a brief introduction about all of these places. You can also take the recommendation from the guide and try the local food. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara 820m/25 minutes and drive from Pokhara to Hille via Nayapul 3 hours and trek to Ulleri 2080m/2-3 hours
Morning we drive to domestic airport after breakfast in hotel. Relishing stunning view of the mountains, we fly off to Pokhara. After landing in Pokhara, we drive on a highway road till Nayapul. From Nayapul, we drive on a rough off-road till we reach Hille by 4W driving. We take a short break, and then we begin our trek to Ulleri. We trek along the countryside till we reach Tikhedhunga. We climb up stone paved stairs till we reach Ulleri, the village of Magar. Overnight at a lodge in Ulleri.

Day 4: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani 2750m/4-5 hours
We trek along the stoned staircases and pass beautiful rhododendron forest, waterfalls, and horse and donkey grazing in the field to reach small Magar village of Nangethanti. We then trek along the alluring panorama of Machhapuchhre (6993m), Hiunchuli (6443m), and Annapurna South (7219m) till we reach Ghorepani. Overnight at a lodge in Ghorepani.

Day 5: Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani 2590m/5-6 hours
It will be an early morning trek today as you do not want to miss the magnificent sunrise view from Poon Hill (3210m). You can also get spectacular views of the snowcapped mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), and others. After enjoying the views from Poon Hill, you head down to Ghorepani and have breakfast. Then you walk through the beautiful rhododendron forest until you reach Tadapani. Overnight at a lodge in Tadapani.

Day 6: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk 1940m/3-4 hours
Today you descend steeply through the dense forests to reach Baise Kharka. You can encounter monkeys and varieties of birds on the way. A steep descent from Baise Kharka will take you to the picturesque village of Ghandruk. Ghandruk is famous for the Gurung community residing here and also for the breathtaking view of Annapurna South (7219m) and Machhapuchhre (6993m). Overnight at a lodge in Ghandruk.

Day 7: Trek from Ghandruk to Syauli Bazaar 1220m/3 hours and drive back to Pokhara 820m/2 hours
You leave the beautiful Ghandruk village and gently descend through the stone steps placed carefully on the ridges alongside the lush forest. Continue the trek to Syaulibazaar and have lunch there. After lunch, you drive back to Pokhara. Enjoy your evening in the lakeside area. Overnight at a 4-star/5-star hotel in Pokhara.

Day 8: Hike to Pumdikot Shiva Statue and World Peace Stupa
We start our day with 30 minutes of driving to reach first to Pumdikot Shiva Statue. Pumdikot is a hill station near Pokhara. The place has a viewpoint at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level, and has the second tallest statue of Shiva in Nepal. Then we drive back to World Peace Stupa. We relish the stunning view of Manaslu (8156m), Dhaulagiri range, Machhapuchhre (6993m), and Annapurna Massif along with scenic Pokhara Valley and beautiful Phewa Lake from the stupa and Pumdikot view tower. Later, we walk down hill for an hour to go for boating on Phewa Lake. Overnight at a 4-star/5-star hotel in Pokhara.

Day 9: Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu 1338m/25 minutes
We catch our afternoon flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu with amazing views of the Annapurna, Lamjung, Manaslu, Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges throughout the flight. We transfer you back to the hotel in Kathmandu. You can spend the day resting and relaxing or strolling around the markets to buy souvenirs to take back home. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu. 

Day 10: Final Departure from Kathmandu
After breakfast at the hotel, our company representative will drive you to the airport 3 hours prior to your scheduled flight.
