The 10-day Langtang Valley Trek for families begins with your arrival in Kathmandu and continues with a drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi. Starting to trek from Syabrubensi, the trail goes alongside Langtang Khola throughout the trek. Most of the routes pass through the densely forested path filled with rhododendrons, oaks, pines, bamboos, and maples. The trails go through Langtang National Park where you may encounter some of the exotic faunas like red panda, yellow-throated martens, wild boar, Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, etc. The trek also offers majestic views of different mountain peaks like Langtang Lirung (7227m), Naya Kanga (5844m), and Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and so on. Another attraction of the trek includes a stopover in Kyanjin Gompa, a Buddhist monastery surrounded by the Himalayas. A side trip from Kyanjin Gompa to Langshisha Kharka features the view of dramatic icefall flowing from the peaks of Langtang Lirung (7227m). The trail passes through many yak pasturelands and several Tamang villages, allowing you and the children to learn and understand the Tamang culture, tradition, and their lifestyle.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1338m

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, we pick you up in a private car and transfer you to your hotel. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi 1460m/6-7 hours by private vehicle 
Leaving the capital city behind, today we drive towards Syabrubensi by private vehicle. We drive through Prithvi Highway moving alongside the Trishuli River. The road is smooth till Trishuli but later gets rough and bumpy until we reach Syabrubensi. Relishing the amazing view of mountains, green hills, rivers, and rustic villages, we pass through Dhunche to arrive in Syabrubensi. Overnight at a lodge in Syabrubesi. 

Day 3: Trek from Syabrubensi to Lama Hotel 2324m/5-6 hours
Today we cross the suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi River and start our trek towards the Lama Hotel. We follow the upstream trail of Langtang Khola through a forested path filled with bamboo trees. The trail also passes through the dense sub-tropical forest full of oak, maple, fir and pine trees and crosses few suspension bridges before ascending steeply to reach Lama Hotel. Overnight at a lodge in Lama Hotel.

Day 4: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang 3330m/5-6 hours
Today we trek through a dense forest of rhododendron, oak and pine trees till we reach Gumanechok before Ghodatabela. Relishing the view of Langtang Lirung (7227m) in the background, we continue to trek through yak pastureland followed by a forested path. We also pass by scattered Tamang villages and then cross a suspension bridge to finally reach the Tamang village of Langtang, which offers a great view of the Langtang Himal range. Overnight at a lodge in Langtang. 

Day 5: Trek from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa 3730m/3-4 hours
Today we trek to Kyanjin Gompa passing through yak pasturelands and small Tamang villages. We ascend gradually past a large Mani wall and cross a stream to reach the village of Mundu. We also come across water mills, sacred rocks, Chortens, and prayers flags on the way to Kyanjin Gompa, which is a sacred Buddhist monastery surrounded by snow-covered peaks of Langtang Lirung (7227m), Yubra (6264m), Naya Kanga (5844m), and others. We can also visit the Yala Cheese Factory in Kyanjin and taste the yak cheese freshly made by the locals. Overnight at a lodge in Kyanjin Gompa. 

Day 6: Hike to Kyanjin Ri View Point 4400m/4-5 hours
Today, you will be climbing up to the vantage point of the Kyanjin Ri View Point. The vantage point is located near the Gompa and the climb is a bit difficult but isn't too technical. From the top of the peak, you will be greeted with panoramic views of the Langtang Valley and of the mountain peaks that surround it, like the Langtang Lirung, the Ganesh Himal and the Dorje Lakpa. After spending time at the vantage point, you will return to the guesthouse in Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight at a lodge in Kyanjin Gompa.  

Day 7: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel 2324m/5-6 hours
Today we head back retracing the same trail to Lama Hotel. We descend through the yak pasturelands until we reach Langtang valley. From Langtang, we continue to trek through the forested path and cross a suspension bridge to climb down to Thangshyap. The trail continues to follow the forested path until reaching Ghodatabela, from where we descend till we arrive in Lama Hotel. Overnight at a lodge in Lama Hotel.

Day 8: Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru 2210m/5-6 hours
Today we head towards Thulo Syabru through dense forest until we reach Pairo. We then gradually ascend and descend on a steep trail through lush green bamboo and rhododendron forest relishing the amazing view of Langtang Lirung (7227m) in the background. We also pass through various Tamang villages to reach Thulo Syabru. Overnight at a lodge in Thulo Syabru.

Day 9: Drive from Thulo Syabru to Kathmandu 5-6 hours by private vehicle 
On the final day of the trek, we begin our journey back to Kathmandu with a scenic drive in a private vehicle, which takes approximately 5–6 hours depending on road and traffic conditions. The route passes through charming rural villages and terraced farmlands, offering glimpses of local life in the countryside. We drive through Thulo Barkhu, Dhunche, and Trisuli, enjoying views of rolling hills, rivers, and traditional settlements. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel for a well-deserved rest. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu. 

Day 10: Final Departure from Kathmandu
We drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight, hoping to see you again.
