Mohare Danda Trek is one of the most popular short community eco trail trekking destinations in Nepal around the Annapurna-Dhaulagiri Himalayan Range which is administered by Annapurna conservation Area Project (ACAP). It is also a  significant trail in Annapurna Area regarding its scenery, cultures and geographical diversity. A brilliant spectacular view of mountains, an unobstructed view of Sunset and Sunrise and several varieties of orchids and rhododendrons flowers during the trekking days. Nepal’s ethnic group such as  Magar and Gurung are inhabitants in this region with their own religion, cultures and festivals. The Trekkers can  see high mountains like as Annapurna I 8091m, Daulagiri I 8167m, Machhapuchre 6997m, Annapurna South 7219m, Nilgiri 6820m and Tukuche Peak 6920m and many others. The region serviced by those old trails in mostly in the Myagdi district, running from the Kali Gandaki River, between Beni and Tatopani, east towards the peaks of the Annapurnas. The area is predominantly peopled by Magars, and it was to help the local population that several homestays community lodges and dining halls were developed, along with handicraft industries such as weaving and paper making. In addition to getting off the beaten track, spreading the trekking dollar and diluting trekking’s involvement footprint, a significant feature of this trek is this trek is the strong community involvement. You will stay in friendly homes, eat in community dining halls, meet local teachers and community organizers, and visit village industries such as weaving and paper making. The community lodges have also adopted ecofriendly practices such as safe-drinking-water stations and solar and micro-hydro electricity. Mohare Danda (3320m) is for awesome views of the Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri range.

Mohare Danda Trek Itinerary 
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 
Arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and you will be met at the airport by our representative who will be waiting with a Swiss Family Treks sign outside the terminal and transfer to Hotel by private car. Welcome drink and after you settle into the hotel there will be a group briefing with your tour leader. He will discuss the trek details and co-ordinate any last minute arrangements. Stay overnight at Hotel.

Day 2: Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley by private van
After brekafast in the hotel, Drive to Swayambhunath Stupa which is very close form the centre of Kathmandu. It takes some minutes to be there. This Temple is also known as Monkey Temple which is considered to be self made Stupa. Then visit to Boudhanath Stupa: the biggest stupa in Nepal and one of the bigger stupa in the world. You can basically experience Tibetan Buddhism, culture and way of life in Boudhanath Area. Boudhanath area is the authentic place to buy Tibetan stuffs. Again you will be visit Pashupatinath Temple and it is one of the most sacred temples in the entire Hindu world. It is a sacred place where Hindus come to die and to be cremated. The temple of Pashupatinath is a large double roofed, gilt pagoda, decorated with brass, the gateway is plated with silver. There are images of Shiva along with other statues, shrines and temples dedicated to other deities in the complex. A circuit of the Pashupati area takes visitors past a sixth-century statue of the Buddha, an eight-century statue of Brahma the creator and numerous other temples. There are rows of Shiva shrines and Hindu pilgrims from all over south Asia offering ceremonies to worship Shiva, the Lord of Destruction. Stay overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu. 

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara 820m/25minutes and drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedunga 1540m (3/4 hours).
Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara in the morning with scenic mountain views including Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Annapurna Massif. Drive to Naya Pul which takes about 1 hour by private van and we start our trek from Nayapul to Birethanti which takes about 1 hour and have a lunch break there. After lunch we walk through the forests trail with viewing the small waterfalls during the trail until reaching Tikhedunga which takes 2 and half hours. We will have lunch there. Overnight in Lodge.

Day 4: Trek from Tikhedunga to Ghorepani 2750m (5/6 hours).
The trail ascent brings us to reach Ulleri village after 2 hours steep up walking and continue the trail gently up until Banthanti which takes about 1 hour and will have lunch there. Now we can see the good view of Machhapuchre, Hiun Chuli and Annapurna South. After lunch, then our trails goes gradually ascend until reaching Ghorepani, a village of Magar peoples which takes about 2 hours to reach. The mountains are visible from our accommodation and overnight in Lodge.

Day 5: Hiking up to Mohare Hill 3320m/3 hours
Today after breakfast, from Ghorepani, we will follow the trail of Poon Hill for 45 minutes for awesome views of Dhaulagiri Range and Annapurna massif and from Poon Hill, the trail turn left on the grassy and rhododendron forests with small ups and downs until reaching where the trail is flat. We walk along a flat trail for a while, then go up into the forest. There is a steep, grassy path along the ridge and finally we will come to see the house of Moharedanda. Still continue hiking along the ridge with Dhaulagiri and Annapurna and Manaslu for sunset vistas. And views of the surrounding forest and the mysterious, southern landscapes. Moharedanda itself is a perfect natural towering ridge. It offers a spectacular 360 degree mountain view through the Dhaulagiri range (8167m), Annapurna range (8091m), Manaslu Himal( 8163m) as well as vistas of  deep magical landscapes and magnificent sunrises and sunsets over the mountains. We will have our lunch there and stay overnight at Lodge.

Day 6: Trek from Mohare Danda to Nangi 2320m/4 hours
Early morning enjoy with sunrise view over the high Himalayas and after breakfast, we walk gentle down hill on grassy land for a while viewing valley. Soon we enter to the forest and walk small gully ups and downs and again we walk on grassy land until reaching Hampal Pass which takes 1 and half hour. Then the trail follows steep zigzag down hill into forest for a while and again gentle climbing down hill into deep forest until we reach at stone paved trail and continue walking down hill to the Magar Village of Nangi, which takes 2 hours. The views of Dhaulagiri range and Annapurna range are still visible from the village. We explore the high school from the village and surrounding area. Stay overnight at Community Lodge. 

Day 7: Trek from Nangi to Banskharka 1526m/4 hours
Today morning after having breakfast, we leave the village and follow the off road head through the villages for 1 and half hour. The views of Dhaulagiri range is still visible. Then the trail goes steep down hill in the stone staircases for half an hour and then walk steep climbing up hill for half an hour. Soon the Banskharka is visible from top of hill and we still continue to walk down hill in well maintained trekking trail until reachinh Banskharka which takes about 4 hours from Nangi. They have organge farming for their whole land and we should stay at Home-Stay from the families. There are mixed culture and different people of Nepal. Stay overnight at Home-Stay. 

Day 8: Trek from Banskharka to Galeshwor and drive to Pokhara
Morning we walk down hill on the small trekking trail skipping dirt road and soon trail follows steep down hill to Kaligandaki River where we cross the suspension bridge and walk on the dirt road for a while to arrive at Galeshwor which takes about 1 and half hour where one of the famous Hindu temple is situated in the middle of village and we quickly visit this temple and our private car is waiting for us there and we drive to Pokhara which takes about 4 hours. Transfer to Hotel. 

Day 9: Morning Hike to World Peace Stupa and afternoon fly back to Kathmandu,
In the morning after breakfast, we will go to world peace stupa by car. We can see panoramic view of high Himalayan range from Manaslu to Dhaulagiri range including Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Massif as well as scenic Pokhara Valley and Phewa Lake. Then, we will walk down to Phewa Lake through the forest which takes about 1 hour and take a boat to cross a Phewa Lake passing the small Island where Temple Barahi is situated middle of the Lake. Afternoon transfer to airport, and then fly back to Kathmandu. Our car will be ready to pick up in the airport and transfer to Hotel.

Day 10: Final Departure from Kathmandu
Your trip will come to an end today after breakfast. Your leader will be on hand to advise and assist with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination. 

Note: Depending on the ages of children, they get discount in trek cost and domestic flight ticket cost accordingly. Also Horse renting in Annapurna Region is USD 75 per day per horse including horse man, his food, accommodation, salary and insurance.
