Dolpo and Rara Lake Camping Trek April 29 — May 22, 2013

Rara Lake, April 29 — May 22, 2013
3 Adults from Switzerland

Dear Stephan, and Team

First of all we like to pay you a big compliment: because of external circumstances we had to completely change our program while on the trek already — and you still made everything work out perfectly. We started our originally planned trek to Upper Dolpo and Jomson well enough, but encountered too much snow in the higher regions. Because it would have been too dangerous to cross the high passes under these conditions, our guide advised us to turn back and pursue a different option. Thus we ended up trekking form Juphal to Rara Lake — a trek which we would not have chosen in the first place but which proved to be far more impressive than we expected. The scenery was amazing and trekking through cultural land gave us very interesting insights into the rural life in Western Nepal. Above all, the trek was really of the beaten tracks — we did not encounter any other tourists for more than two weeks. Having been prepared for a different trek, our guide and crew had to improvise — but they came up with a good program and they managed to find great picnic areas and camping sites. Our crew was just wonderful: friendly, helpful, funny, hardworking and always smiling. A big compliment also to the back office in Kathmandu: because we ended our trek in Jumla instead of Jomson, they had to rebook our domestic flights and organize alternative modes of transportation for our crew. Everything worked out perfectly and we reached Kathmandu on time. Thus, dear Stephan,  and team, we want to thank you all for an unforgettable trek. This is the second time we used the services of your company and we can only recommend you.

Everest Mani Rimdu Festival Lodge Trek 12 Days, 1 November to 12 November 2014

Dear Stephan,

In November 2014, my partner and I (who are Canadian) enjoyed an amazing trek up to Tengboche, Nepal for the annual Mani Rimdu festival. Swiss Family Treks made all the difference in our experience while traveling Nepal. From the moment I first emailed them to inquire about the trek, they were quick to respond and extremely helpful. I am so happy I stumbled across the company website while researching for our trip!

When we finally landed in Nepal, a company representative was right there to greet us (bottled water in hand...exactly what we needed after such a long flight!). They picked us up from the airport and off we went to start our adventure! Lee and I had planned for a day of bungee jumping and also the 11 day Mani Rimdu trek.  Swiss Family had everything prepared for us including tickets, schedules, and an overview of tips and customs of the Nepali people (they thought of just about everything!).
The hotel they booked in Thamel was clean, staffs were friendly and it was in the perfect location. A company representative was also always on hand when they said they would be (like our 6am wake up call to head out for our bungee jumps, or when we needed to head back to the airport for a short domestic flight to Lukla).

We couldn't have been any happier with our porter and guide on our trek. Sonam (our guide) was an amazing gentleman; he was very knowledgeable about the mountains, the country and the sherpa people, a great person to talk to during our long trekking days. He was very punctual (as was our porter), and cared very much about our health and safety during our time with him (especially when I came down with abit of AMS).  He also worked very hard at finding us tea houses with the best views of Mt Everest, and scooped up extra blankets for us as soon as we arrived, very thoughtful of him!

During our last few days in Kathmandu, we decided to do a last minute tour of some popular sites in the city. Swiss Family quickly organized (with in an hour) a driver just for us for an entire afternoon (for an amazing price too!). The driver was great, a young energetic man excited to tell us all about the sites and Buddhist and Hindu culture (even though he was just suppose to drive us, what a bonus!)

Thank you Swiss Family Treks (Stephan, and all the staff, guides and porters) for being so fantastic! We truly enjoyed our time spent in Nepal and would highly recommend your company to anyone who plans on visiting!

Many greetings from Canada,

Nicole & Lee

Sehr geehrter Herr Kocher,

Hatten wunderbare Tage in Nepal.

Everest Panorama Lodge Trek and Chitwan Tour and Nagarkot Tour 21 Days ,from 22 April to 20 May 2016

Hello again Stephan,

Some comments:

In the spring of 2016 I traveled in Nepal through arrangements made by Swiss Family Treks and Expedition Nepal. A dedicated staff paid close attention to all details so that transportation, lodging and trekking and site seeing all ran very smoothly. My guides and guide assistants could not have been kinder or more careful through out visiting the Khumbu area (Everest Panorama Lodge Trek), on the Champa Devi day trek (for acclimatization) or on the Nagarkot trek.  A safari tour in Chitwan (elephants and rhinoceroses for a start) was also included as were some initial acclimatization days (visiting cultural sites) in the Kathmandu and later in the Namche Bazaar areas. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire stay leaving with the sense that Nepal had offered a great deal culturally and religiously along with so many awesome mountains and natural beauty.  It seems that one visit is only the start.  Spring is perhaps less crowded though my visit was close to a year after the earthquake.  Also spring weather can have both clear and hazy days.  This seemed minor compared to the adventure of the trekking. I have confidence that the Swiss Family Treks and Expedition Nepal can work out a trip you will very much enjoy and recall with enthusiasm.

Everest Panorama (Lukla bis Tengboche) Lodge Trek für Familie, 12 Tage, 21. Oktober bis 31. Oktober 2016

Hallo Stephan,
