Jomsom Muktinath Trek for families (Perfect Holiday for Monsoon), 10 Days

Days: 10 / Difficulty: 3 of 5 (Moderate to strenuous)

Jomsom Muktinath Trek for families follows the classic trade-route into the Kaligandaki valley. Once a transit point of trade between Tibet and Nepal, Jomsom, presiding just by Kali Gandaki River under the roof of Nilgiri Himal, is a valley of unforgettable beauty set against the backdrop of the mighty Himalayas. The scenic beauty around Jomsom’s landscape is unsurpassable though barren and windy. The Bon Po Gompas are interesting and you may visit one of them at Lupra. Advocating north across fossils (Saligrams) paved Kali Gandaki you reach the ancient village of Kagbeni via Eklebhatti, where Thupten Samphel Ling (Gompa) still resides dominating a fascinating mediaeval rabbit —warren of crumbling mud-brick houses. Leaving this village which came into existence before the arrival of Buddhism, you will head upward along the flat trail until stopping at Jharkot. Here we can wonder around the ruins of the old Fort and visit Sakya Gompa as well as the medical center. Your every step on the way is full of wonder and awe as you turn around to notice the perpetual gaze of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri Himal. Muktinath is a combination of Buddhism and Hinduism religion where you can visit both temples of lord Vishnu and Buddha. It is said that encountering the 5 elements of fire, water, wind and earth all previous sins are spontaneously purified. Inside the monastery is the ever burning natural flame coming out directly from the mountain. On backing you will follow the same trail to Jomsom and you will follow the Kaligandaki valley, the deepest gorge on earth carved between the massif of Dhaulagiri I and Annapurna I. Jomsom Muktinath Trekking Nepal is is also very ideal for the monsoon season (July and August).
