The Annapurna Poon Hill combined Mohare Danda is a short 9 days trip in the Annapurna region. The trekking route of Mohare Danda offers a perfect combination of amazing landscapes and rich culture of one of the ethnic group of Magar and Gurung people. The trek gives the trekkers an opportunity to witness extraordinary vistas of sunrise and sunset over the high Himalayas. This off the beaten trekking trail of Annapurna region is bounded by lush forests of oaks, bamboo, pines, and several varieties of rhododendrons along with ample waterfalls and rivers. Another highlight of the trek includes the panoramic view of snow-capped mountains like Annapurna I (8091m), Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), Annapurna South (7219m), Nilgiri (6820m), and Hiunchuli (6441m), and many others mountains that can be seen from Mohare Danda (3320m). The area is inhabited by the Magar and Gurung communities and vibrates with their rich culture and way of life. The homestay is quite popular which gives the trekkers an opportunity to learn and understand the lifestyle and culture of the Magar and Gurung people. During the trek, the trekkers can also befriend the locals and allow their children to immerse in the culture of the local community.

ITINERARY 
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1338m

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our team representative picks you up and transfers you to the hotel by private vehicle. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara 820m/25 minutes and drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedunga 1540m/3 hours
Leaving Kathmandu, we fly to Pokhara early in the morning enjoying the scenic mountain views. Upon landing, we drive to Nayapul by private jeep. We begin our trek from Nayapul to Tikhedunga passing through several villages like Birethanti, Lamdawali, Sudame, and Hile on our way. We also trek through the forested trail stumbling across small waterfalls. Overnight at a lodge in Tikhedunga. 

Day 3: Trek from Tikhedunga to Ghorepani 2750m/6 hours
Today we head towards Ghorepani village, inhabited by Gurung and Magar people. From Tikhedunga, we ascend to Ulleri village through stone steps. The trail then steeply ascends until Banthanti which offers a beautiful view of Hiunchuli (6441m), Annapurna South (7219m), and Machhapuchhre (6997m). From there, we gradually ascend through the forested path to finally reach Ghorepani. Overnight at a lodge in Ghorepani. 

Day 4: Trek from Ghorepani to Mohare Danda/Hill 3320m/3 hours
Today we follow the trail of Poon Hill for about 45 minutes, enjoying the great views of Dhaulagiri Range and Annapurna massif in the background. We then take a left turn and enter the forested path filled with rhododendron bushes. The trail follows small ups and down on steep, grassy paths along the ridge until reaching Mohare Hill (3320m). Mohare Hill offers a splendid panorama of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs along with a stunning sunrise and sunset view over the mountains. Overnight at a community-based lodge in Mohare Danda.

Day 5: Trek from Mohare Danda to Nangi 2320m/4 hours
Today we wake up early in the morning to enjoy the view of the sunrise over the Himalayas. We then head towards Nangi descending on grassy land followed by a forested trail with small ups and downs. We again trek in the grassy land until we reach Hampal Pass (3098m). We then descend through steep zigzag trail and enter the dense forest that leads us to the Magar village of Nangi. The village still gives us a beautiful view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Overnight at a community-based lodge in Nangi.

Day 6: Trek from Nangi to Banskharka 1526m/4 hours
Leaving Nangi, we continue our trek on an off-road trail that heads through villages. The trail steeply descends on the stone staircase followed by a steep ascent to the top a hill which gives a faraway glimpse of Banskharka village. Enjoying the view of Dhaulagiri range in the background, we continue to trek downhill until we reach the village of Banskharka. The village is popular for their orange farming and homestay. Overnight at a home-stay in Banskharka.

Day 7: Trek from Banskharka to Galeshwor 1170m/2 hours and drive to Pokhara 820m/3 hours
For our last day of trekking, we head towards Galeshwor descending on a narrow trail through the terraced farms. The trail then steeply descends to Kaligandaki River where we cross the suspension bridge. We then continue to walk on a dirt road that leads us to Galeshwor, where a famous Hindu temple is situated. We make a quick visit to the temple and drive back to Pokhara enjoying the scenic countryside view. Overnight at a 5-star hotel in Pokhara. 

Day 8: Morning Hike to World Peace Stupa and afternoon fly back to Kathmandu
Today we go for an early morning short hike to World Peace Stupa, which offers a panoramic view of the mountains like Machhapuchhre (6997m), Annapurna massif, and Dhaulagiri massif along with a bird's eye view of Pokhara valley and Phewa Lake. After spending some time at the Stupa, we walk down to Phewa Lake through the forested path and take a boat ride to cross the lake. In the afternoon, we catch a flight back to Kathmandu and transfer you to the hotel. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 9: Final Departure from Kathmandu
Our team representative transfers you to Tribhuvan International Airport in our private van approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight back to your home country.
