Panch Pokhari Trekking is the recently opened non tourist trekking destination in Nepal. Panch Pokhari Trek is through untouched traditional village in stunning Himalayan Range and beautiful landscapes. Panch Pokhari Trekking in Nepal offers pristine mountains views, rich culture, genuine adventure, bio diversity, natural beauty. The high altitude holy lakes are secret to Buddhist and Hindu peoples. You have great and closer views of Langtang Range, Jugal Himal, Rolwaling Himal and other snow-capped peaks. Trekkers first travel by bus to Chautara, five hours northeast of Kathmandu towards the Tibetan border. We travel through a mixture of beautiful mountain scenery and the terraced fields and characteristic houses of rural villages from different ethnic groups. On your first night, you will experience life in the village homes of Sherpa and Tamang people and your guide will give a short talk on trekking, altitude sickness and the highlights of the trek. These include the holy Five Lakes, the incredible Himalayan scenery and the life style of nomadic people unchanged by time. The unusual climatic and geographical mix makes this area a naturalist's dream and a Mecca for those who appreciate traditional cultures. Moreover lots of historical places, religious places, Caves and naturally beautiful lakes are other important things for noble experience. The 9th highest altitude wetland in the world, Panch Pokhari is source of peace, brotherhood and solace where thousands of pilgrims come on every Janai Purnima from surrounding villages and lots of Shamans (witch doctor) in a special costume visit which is really notable. This is also very significant part of this trek. On the way to this trek, there is very important historical place-Dukhang (Haveli) where so called kingly Kaji rulers used to live 172 years ago and which is noticeable through the ancient art of the building and infrastructure. And most of the history can be revealed through the attached calligraphy. It is said that the Kaji family was linked with Rana rulers to rule the local people of this place.

Panch Pokhari Trekking Itinerary 
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and you will be met at the airport by our representative who will be waiting with a Swiss Family Treks sign outside the terminal and transfer to Hotel by private car. Welcome drink and after you settle into the hotel there will be a group briefing with your tour leader. He will discuss the trek details and co-ordinate any last minute arrangements. Stay overnight at Hotel.
Day 2: Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley by private van.
After brekafast in the hotel, Drive to Swayambhunath Stupa which is very close form the centre of Kathmandu. It takes some minutes to be there. This Temple is also known as Monkey Temple which is considered to be self made Stupa. Then visit to Boudhanath Stupa: the biggest stupa in Nepal and one of the bigger stupa in the world. You can basically experience Tibetan Buddhism, culture and way of life in Boudhanath Area. Boudhanath area is the authentic place to buy Tibetan stuffs. Again you will be visit Pashupatinath Temple and it is one of the most sacred temples in the entire Hindu world. It is a sacred place where Hindus come to die and to be cremated. The temple of Pashupatinath is a large double roofed, gilt pagoda, decorated with brass, the gateway is plated with silver. There are images of Shiva along with other statues, shrines and temples dedicated to other deities in the complex. A circuit of the Pashupati area takes visitors past a sixth-century statue of the Buddha, an eight-century statue of Brahma the creator and numerous other temples. There are rows of Shiva shrines and Hindu pilgrims from all over south Asia offering ceremonies to worship Shiva, the Lord of Destruction. Stay overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Simpal 1813m by private land cruiser 5 hours driving
This morning we have a beautiful 5 hour drive to the little village of Simpal via Chautara. While small, Chautara is the headquarter of Sindupalchok district and if you like to explore, you can gain some insight into the culture and daily life of the village.
Day 04: Trek to Kami Kharka [2810m]
This morning we can start gently with about 3 hours of gradual uphill walking to Thulo Okhareni. From here we get into the steeper climb with about 4 hours of walking through stunning, dense Rhododendron and pine forest. If we are lucky and observant, we might spot some wild animals such as mountain deer or langur monkeys and Nepali birdlife like the danfe. Tonight we camp on a summer pasture ground for nomadic cattle herders (kharka).
Day 05: Trek to Pauwa Bas [3000 m]
Today’s walk is nice and gentle, being fairly level (‘Nepali flat’) and we can enjoy our forest trails and wildlife spotting. We have about 5 to 6 hours through the lush forest of rhododendron, oak, pine and juniper and we can see some nomad’s houses for cattle on the way. In Pauwa Bas there is a shelter for pilgrims to Panch Pokhari.
Day 06: Trek to Hille Bhanjyang [3400 m]
This morning we have a steep uphill stetch for about 3 hours, taking our time. We get our breath back on the steep downhill though as we descend for 1 ½ hours through the forest. We have some great mountain views on our way down into our camp at Hille Bhanjyang.
Day 07: Trek to Panch Pokhari [4100 m]
Today we only have about 4 hours of walking. So we take it easy on the steep uphill section to start the day, taking about an hour. Then we enjoy the gradual descent of about 3 hours through rocky hills and rhododendron forest into camp at Narsim Pati. There is a small rest house for pilgrims on their way to the holy site of Panch Pokhari and we have great mountain views from several places. We have about 3 hours of gradual ascent through rocky hills to reach our destination of Panch Pokhari (panch means ‘five’ and pokhari means ‘lake’). This stunning setting is a secluded pilgrimage site where the Janaipurnima festival is held in August. Many Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims visit this site each year and we can see two pilgrim houses and the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Day 08: Trek to Panch Pokhari top, trek to Tupi Danda [2320 m]
This morning we have an early start to catch a stunning sunrise over the mountains! We have about 1 ½ hours uphill to see the beautiful sight of the sun rising over the Himalayas and our panoramic view includes Mt.Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal Range, Rolwaling Range and Langtang Range. After this incredible start to the morning, we head back down to Panch Pokhari to pack up and start heading for home. We have about six hours down some steep trails through the rhododendron forest to Tupi Danda (danda means ‘ridge’) and our camp.
Day 09: Trek to Dhap [1200 m]
Today we have about 5 hours of walking, 2 of which are quite steep downhill and the rest is quite level as we make our way through terraced fields to the beautiful village of Dhap. Dhap is home to Tamang families and is gives us a great chance to gain some insight into the lives, culture and traditional architecture of Tamang villages.
Day 10: Trek to Melamchi [800 m] and drive back to Kathmandu
Today we have about 6 hours of walking. We walk down through terraced fields, along the Indrawati River. We pass through stunning villages and also see a hydro electricity project on the way to Tipini and our re-introduction to a road! Melamchi Pul Bazaar which lies at the bank of Melamchi Khola (stream) and Indrawati River is comparatively a big town for this area. There are some lodges, tea shops, government offices, schools, colleges, post office and army police camp. Our land cruiser will pick you up from Melamchi Pul and drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 11: Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar square by private van
After breakfast, we are going to visit two historical monuments which represent early and late medieval history, architecture, culture and religion. Bhaktapur Durbar square is an ancient newari city, 13 kilometers far from Kathmandu stores numbers of Hindu temples, 55 windowed medieval durbar and offers you various examples of metal smith and wooden craft along with the opportunity of exploring traditional pottery work to the another corner. Patan durbar square is equally important which represents late medieval history, Culture and architecture. Stay overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 12: Final Departure from Kathmandu
Your trip will come to an end today after breakfast. Your leader will be on hand to advise and assist with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination.
