Days: 11 / Difficulty: 2 of 5 (Moderate)
Easy and short Trekking in Nepal is designed for those without any experiences of Trekking before and those who have little time to experience the mountains of Majestic Himalayan country. Each programmed provides great opportunity to experience Nepalese Villages, Green Landscapes, Himalayan Snowcapped Mountains, Himalayan White Water Rivers and many more. This trek is a relatively low altitude one and because it is close to Kathmandu. The trek passes through some beautiful forests and very interesting villages on route. Along the way, we visit the homes of Brahmins, Tamangs and Sherpas people of Nepal. In the Helambu region, the Sherpas are quite distinct from the Sherpas of the Everest region in both language and customs. The ranges of mountains that rise above us match the diversity of the people. From low altitudes, we have excellent views of mountains that include the Langtang Range, the Annapurnas, Manaslu and even Everest on a clear day. This is also the most easily accessible of all areas from Kathmandu. It lies about 70km north of Kathmandu Valley, it is an area inhabited by Sherpas, Tamags and Chetrries. The language, culture and dress of the Helambhu Sherpas are very different from those who live in Solu khumbu and Rolwaling area and it is famous place for arts (Thanka).
Flora and Fauna
The forests of Helambhu region and Langtang area prime example of temperate and sub alpine vegetation. The dense oak and pine forests on the trail of particular interest. As usual, the Rhododendrons from a spectacular display during the spring.
People and culture
The people here are of Tibetan origin and call themselves Sherpa although they are quite distinct from the Sherpas of Everest region both in language and customs. Also found in large numbers here are the Tamang people who also originated in Tibet but settled in Nepal considerably earlier than Sherpas.
