Horseback Riding Trek to Annapurna Panorama (with children or without) starts with your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, you take a scenic flight over the countryside to the beautiful city of Pokhara. A short drive from Pokhara takes you to Phedi, which is the starting point of the trek. The trail takes you past gushing rivers, waterfalls, and terraced farms, and also takes you through dense rhododendron and pine forests. The Gurung village of Ghandruk is one of the major highlights of this trek. The Gurung museum and the breathtaking views of Annapurna South (7219m) and Machhapuchhre (6997m) are the main attractions of Ghandruk. Your children can also have fun dressing up in the traditional Gurung attire in the Gurung Museum. Another highlight of this trek is the sunrise view seen from Poon Hill (3210 m), which hosts a jaw-dropping view of the high Himalayas, including the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Many villages of the Gurung and Magar inhabitants are reached throughout the trek giving the children an opportunity to observe the rural life closely. The traditional lifestyle, local food, and the heartwarming hospitality of the people make this trek ideal for families, solo travelers and small group. The trekking ends in Tatopani, where you can enjoy a warm dip in the natural hot spring on the bank of Kali Gandaki River. As most part of the trek is done on a horseback, the children remain keen and thrilled throughout the trek, which helps in keeping the family immersed in the trek.
