Kathmandu Valley Rim Trekking is a short trek around the Kathmandu Valley. Nagarkot boasts as a great viewpoint for the sunset and sunrise view over the mountains like Mt. Everest (8848m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Langtang (7227m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m) and many more. It is one of the most beautiful trekking routes offering with divine natural beauty, charming culture and lifestyle and panoramic mountain views.

Our trek starts with a scenic drive to Changunarayan Temple which is one of the oldest temples and is listed as a world heritage site. The temple also reflects brilliant architectural proficiency and religious significance. The trek resumes with a scenic drive to Nagarkot. The famous viewpoint offers enchanting views of sunrise and sunset over the distinguished Himalayas in the nation. From Nagarkot, we will walk to Chisapani then to the Shivapuri. We will get chance to see the diverse flora and fauna of Shivapuri National Park and then we will continue to one of the famous holiday destinations near Kathmandu Valley, Kakani. It is one of the shortest and most adventurous treks around Kathmandu Valley. The trek is a pleasant blend of every hallmark of a typical trek in Nepal. Albeit short, the trek entails the mesmerizing view of the Himalayas along with rich culture along the trekking trail. The diverse landscapes throughout the trek are a delightful introduction with the blend of gorgeous rivers and lush vegetation to accompany us for its entirety.

Itinerary  
Day 1; Arrival in Kathmandu International Airport 

On your arrival at Kathmandu, one of our representatives will pick you up and escort you to the hotel. You can rest and prepare for the trek during the remaining time of the day. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2; Drive from Kathmandu to Changunarayan and trek to Nagarkot 1932m (2 hours).
After having our breakfast, we will drive to Changu Narayan in our private vehicle. Changunarayan is one of the oldest temples which was built in the 4th century and is one of the UNESCO enlisted world heritage sites. It is a famous temple of Lord Vishnu built in classical Pagoda Style. From Changunarayan, it almost one and half hour trek to Nagarkot, which is a famous vantage point for the sunset and sunrise over the mountains like Ganesh Himal (7422m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Jugal Himal range, Langtang range, and other snow-capped Himalayas. Overnight at Nagarkot.

Day 3; Trek from Nagarkot to Chisapani 2215m (6-7 hours), 
After enjoying the stunning sunrise view from the Nagarkot viewpoint, we will trek to Chisapani. After having our breakfast, we will leave Nagarkot in the early morning and start our trek to Chisapani. We will walk through the dense rhododendron forests, cross numerous waterfalls, small settlement areas and temples on our way. We can also interact with the locals and enjoy the beautiful views of Langtang (7227m) and Mt. Everest (8848m) on our way. Overnight at Chisapani.

Day 4; Trek from Chisapani to Shivapuri 2725m (5/6 hours), 
We will hike to Shivapuri which will take us around five to six hours. We will walk along the dense forests and few settlements having tea houses. We will encounter fast flowing waterfalls, temples, and dams on our way. We will also cross Mulkharka which is a famous Tamang settlement. You can stroll around the area to observe the lifestyle of the inhabitants. Overnight at Shivapuri.

Day 5; Trek from Shivapuri to Kakani 2030m (5/6 hours) and drive back to Kathmandu (2 hours).
The descending trail along the forested landscapes will take us to one of the most ancient Gorkhalis villages, Kakani. It is a famous vantage point of the major mountain peaks in the Nuwakot District. It is also a famed recreational destination. We can enjoy the magnificent views of the mountains like Ganesh Himal (7422m), Annapurna (8091m), Manaslu (8163m), Dhaulagiri ranges etc. along with the views of lush green forests and rolling hills. We will also visit the British Gurkhas welfare bungalow and a park made in the memory of the crash victims of Thai Airways International Flight 311. From Kakani, we will drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at a 3-star Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 6; After breakfast depending on your schedule transfer to International Airport.
A company representative will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport for your scheduled flight.

* 2 nights accommodation in twin bed sharing basis with breakfast at standart hotel in Kathmandu.
* Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with Tea & coffee and hot/cold filter  water during the camping trek.
* Camping/Tented  accommodation during the trek.
* 1 experienced, helpful and friendly guide, 1 cook and 1 helper, porters (1 porter  for 2 peoples), their food & accommodation, salary, equipments & insurance.
* Trekking camping equipments (Tent, mattress, dining tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, kitchen utensils etc.)
* All transportation by private vehicle.
* All necessary permits (Shivapuri Wildlife Reserve)

Our Trek Package Cost doesn't include;
* Any meals in Kathmandu other than breakfast.
* Travel insurance (if you want us to arrange your travel insurance, we would  greatly be happy to assist).
* International air fare to and from Nepal.
* Nepal Tourist Visa fee.
* Items and expenses of personal nature.
* Any kind of alcoholic drinks, cold drinks, laundry, phone call, internet.
* Personal Trekking Equipments like sleeping bags, jackets (can all be hired in KTM)
* Emergency Evacuation (Helicopter Rescue).
* Any costs which arise due to a change of the itinerary, because of landslides, political disturbance, and strikes etc.
* Any other costs whatsoever, that is not mentioned in the cost included.
* Horse renting and additional porters during the trek.
* Tips for guide, porters, driver...

                                     Tipping is expected but it is not mandatory.
