One of the beautiful and shorter trek routes in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal, the Dudh Kunda Lodge Trek allows for some unique cultural experiences with a great chance to witness the beautiful flora and fauna of this region. We will be able to see the magnificent beauty of the Himalayan ranges including the majestic Everest (8,848m). This trek offers a wonderful example of Himalayan hospitality as we pass through the villages of different ethnic groups.

The 9-days trek begins as you land in Kathmandu and explore the cultural masterpieces within the city. You will take a domestic flight to Phaplu and trek to reach Ringmo. The trail further continues along Beni and finally reaching Dudh Kunda valley. Very little people make their way to the Dudh Kunda Path making it an uncharted territory. Located at the base of the Numbur Himal (6,958m), the marvelous trek will take you on a cultural journey through ancient trading routes. This almost feels as if time traveled back in time. The Dudh Kunda which literally translated to “Milky Lake” is situated in one of the very rich area in Nepal which boasts of an ecology that consists of animals such as the Mountain Thar, Snow leopard, pheasants, bears and jackals and so much more with views of Everest (8848m), Numbur (6958m) and multitude of other peaks in the Sagarmatha region. This trek is a wonderful opportunity to cool down one’s stressed life and give in to nature and lose into spirituality. This trek undertakes a beautiful trail through different villages and abundant time to marvel in the beauty of the Himalayas. Itinerary
Day 1: Arriving at the international airport and transfer to hotel. 

Welcome to Kathmandu. Our staff will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Overnight at 4-star hotel in Kathmandu. 

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Phaplu 2470m/9-10 hours by local jeep
Very early morning, we will leave Kathmandu in local jeep to Phaplu. The path follows the Sunkoshi River which joins Tama Koshi River further ahead on our drive forming a large Koshi River until reaching Ghurmi. We will enjoy typical Nepali food and continue our drive along the dense rhododendron forests. We will pass numerous settlement areas before reaching Phaplu which will take approximately take 9-10 hours to reach. We will explore the local bazaar and observe the lifestyle of the inhabiting people. Overnight at a lodge in Phaplu.

Day 3: Trek from Phaplu to Ringmo 2720m/3-4 hours 
As we walk from Phaplu, we will begin to get glimpses of the beauty of Nepal from the aerial views. The different geographical settings of Nepal can be seen to be arranged beautifully. The grey and white mountains are subtly followed by green lush hills and immense river systems to create a natural paragon. We will trek to Ringmo for 3-4 hours walking which is through lush green meadows and a red blooming forest of rhododendrons. Overnight at lodge in Ringmo.

Day 4: Trek from Ringmo to Saharbeni 3835m/6-7 hours 
Today, we will gain quite an altitude to the yak pasture land of Saharsbeni. We will be walking quite a long time today and is quite tiring on a steep trail.  As mostly shrubs grow here, this area is mostly brown in color and also provides the possibility of witnessing a few different types of wildlife in this area. Our tired body will feel much better as we reach Beni and get a view of the beautiful mountains. Overnight at lodge in Saharsbeni. 

Day 5: Hike to Dudh Kunda 4561m and trek back to Saharsbeni 3835m/4-5 hours 
After breakfast, we will begin our climb to Dudh Kunda which literally translates to Milky Lake. We will meet another lake as we make our way, called the Kalo Pokhari. Local belief says that you ought to visit the lake while you hike up and cannot be seen after you visit Dudh Kunda. Many other folklores surround this area. When we reach the lake, we will be able to see a darkish blue-tinged water with the backdrop of Karyolung (6,681) and Numbur (6,959m) towering over it. This is an ideal location for photo making and enjoying the peace and serenity. From here we will move down to Saharsbeni. Overnight at lodge in Sarsar Beni. 

Day 6: Trek from Saharsbeni — Pare Danda and trek down to Junbesi 2700m/6-7 hours
We will pass Pare Danda which is a ridge with great lush pasture lands. We will be able to see the panoramic view of the Himalayas which gives it an overwhelming feeling. Passing the ridge we further make our way to the village of Sherpas’ called Junbesi which also houses many famous monasteries which can be explored for the rest of the day. Overnight at lodge in Junbesi. 

Day 7: Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu 2470m/4-5 hours 
Today, we will descend to the river Basa with beautiful views of the mountains in the Everest region keeping us company. As today marks the last day of walking, we have the time to think and reflect back upon our accomplishments and the learnings of the trek in the Himalayas. Time spent in the Himalayas change the person in ways that they may not even have imagined. From Beni, we will walk upon the airstrip of Phaplu. Overnight at lodge in Phaplu.

Day 8: Drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu 9-10 hours by local jeep
With the great view of the Himalayas, we shall take a drive back to Kathmandu by local jeep. The scenery from above is completely different and awe-inspiring. We will reach Kathmandu and have a chance to give much-required rest to our sore legs. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu. 

Day 9: After breakfast transfer to the international airport. 
After breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.
