Hi Stephan,

The 7-day trekking course near Annapurna was a memorable time for Cass and I.  I read about Stephan's tour operation in The Guradian, contacted them and everything since has been smooth and easy experience from getting detailed itinerary, pre-trip planning, arrival at the Kathmandu airport, transfer and the trek.  We were in the Annapurna area (course included flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara, trek to Poon Hills and down) in early August which meant that it was wet but we did manage to enjoy intermittent sunshine and early morning unveiling of the majestic mountaintops.  Our guide Karma Sherpa was professional and porter Mahindra was a 20-something herculean of sorts. A pleasant footnote to the trip was an unexpected invitation from Stephan to his village home outside Kathmandu for an afternoon of tea and early evening send off dinner before our midnight flight back.  Cass and I had a wonderful time being in the hospitality of Stefan and his family, free flowing conversations on the latest movies we saw, US election predictions and the demise of world sporting organizations.  And we got to stretch our legs little (!) in his upstairs studio with a picturesque view from the balcony.

My husband and I would like to thank you for the amazing poonhill trekking experience.  It was truly an achievement for us, sea level people, to climb the thousands of rocky slippery and steep mountain steps all the way to Poonhill and back.

Special thanks to dear Mr Madan for taking such good care of us every step of the way. Such a humble and well-mannered person! Also thanks to Tikka and Lal for carrying our luggage up the mountain and back down and taking care of our meals' menu order!

Pokhara and the Anapurna area are truly of spectacular beauty. So rich with water, untouched sources of energy!

Dear Stephan and SFT Team,

Thank you again for your warm welcome. We were glad to meet you for Lunch at your place, It was really nice!
This trip was a first family trekking with our 3 little children (9, 7 and 5 years old) for us. So, I was very worried about my kids being in Nepal for Trekking.
But once we got there, the very warm welcome, supporting, helping, services... of SFT team made us feel very comfortable and relax (no more worry).
Especially, the SFT team were very kids friendly during the whole trip. Our kids enjoyed very much their trekking. So we did!
The program was well organized and fit for family with small children.
This trip was worth, beautiful, excellent, interesting, enjoying... and we will surly come back again.

"Matthew, Lily (2.5yrs) and I had a wonderful Trek to Poon Hill with the Swiss Family Trek team.  Stephan also organised a great trip to Chitwan after our trek, we loved all the Elephants and the other animals were just great to be around.  From the initial booking Stephan was great to deal with.  On the ground in Nepal his team were friendly, organised and unobtrusive.   All transport and accommodation was great and on-time which gave us peace of mind especially travelling with Little Lily.  We hope to come back one day on another trip! alles, was Sie für uns organisiert haben, war rundrum in Ordnung, die Tage haben uns außerordentlich gut gefallen. Zum Island Jungle Resort: Ambiente, Unterbringung und Personal sehr freundlich und gut. Dass einem die wilden (gefährlichen) Tiere so sehr nah kommen können (z.B. beim Fußmarsch) fand ich persönlich gewöhnungsbedürftig bis angsteinflößend, aber es war dennoch eine tolle Erfahrung.

Berge: Das Team (Führer und Träger) war sehr freundlich und korrekt sowie darum bemüht, unsere "spontane Abweichung" bestmöglich in gute Aktion umzusetzen.. wir sind früher zurückgewandert, mit dem Auto ein ganzes Stück gebracht worden, unterwegs noch mit Besuch des tibetanischen Flüchtlingscamps, dann hoch in eine sehr schöne Lodge, zu der wir nur eine gute halbe Stunde steil hinauf mussten, das war okay. Am nächsten Tag sind wir dann von dort "nur" den Weg nach Pokhara heruntergelaufen und hatten dort einen schönen Nachmittag und Abend (an dem der Führer uns auch betreut hat). Also alles in allem: Sehr schön! .

Insgesamt aber keine Beschwerde, die Alternative ging gut, der Führer hat uns prima betreut, alles in allem eine sehr schöne Zeit!

How disappointed I was when my Himalaya trek with an English company fell through.  Googling ‘trekking in Nepal with kids’ bought me to the site of ‘Swiss Family Trekking’.  What a great find and I am so glad the original holiday was cancelled.  My 11 year old son and I had the most fantastic holiday in Nepal.  As well as trekking in the most amazing landscapes of Annapurna Conservation Area (Ghorepani, Poon Hill, Ghandruck) with a lovely guide, we also enjoyed, hot springs a spa hotel, jungle exploration, elephant rides, white water rafting, cultural experiences and made new friends. I cannot recommend SFT highly enough for the prompt response to my many questions, the tailor made itinerary that covered everything we wanted and more, and the smooth and efficient organisation from the moment we arrived at Kathmandu airport the airport to the time our bags were checked in to leave.  We felt truly looked after.  And not to forget, great value for money.  

We loved Nepal and will definitely come back, and it will certainly be with SFT again.  Thank you Stephan, and team.

Dear Stephan
We had a great trek in Nepal thanks to your good team and organization. Lalu was a very good guide, and had done a great job getting us rooms with attached bathroom and hot water in all the lodges! We also really enjoyed the porters' company - especially Ronik - He has a special ability to be with children and Paul just loved walking with him. We would very much like to come back for another trek next year - and we would love to go with these guys again.
 
The horse and the horseman (Vijay) were also very good and Paul really enjoyed riding it. We also really enjoyed the sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley and we had a good guide for this too.
 
Our general impression is however that your agency is very well run and that you offer quality services which gave us an experience for life. We will come back and do treks in Nepal in the future, and will recommend Swiss Family Treks to everybody we meet who want to do family trekking in Nepal!

Dear Ashta and Stephan
 
Currently waiting at Kathmandu airport for my delayed flight to Dhaka so thought I would use the time and free wi-fi to send my feedback on the trip. Basically, really excellent, Ashta was a great guide especially in helping me to get my Bangladesh visa and flight sorted out last week — many thanks. The treks were beautiful, and also an easy introduction to trekking for those without much experience or any wish to overdo it. It was also great to intersperse the walking with some interesting sights enroute — obviously it was a real bonus that the Yartang festival was on. The region was definitely a great choice for the rainy season so I would highly recommend your company for putting together the itinerary as well as the guiding and organisation.  Ashta asked that I send some photos. I am sure you have plenty of the amazing scenery so have sent some of the Yartang festival and a nice one of my view at breakfast in Pokhara— feel free to use them if you wish.
