Yolmo Valley Meditational Tour.
Though the place is not well-known nationally and internationally, Yolmo valley is the holiest place in Helambu trekking region. Both Guru Padmasambhava and Tibet’s greatest Yogi Milarepa are known to have spent time in meditation and blessed this valley. Guru Padmasambhava is said to have hidden many” Tarmas “or teaching meant for the future here. In this area there are many holy caves where Guru Padmasambhava, Yeshi Tsogyal and Milarepa meditated over there. This area is also surrounded by historical monasteries, beautiful villages, wonderful jungles around and in the same time you can meet the most hospitable Yolmolese there.

After the arrival of thousands of Tibetans following the 1959 Chinese invasion, the temple has become one of the most important centers of Tibetan Buddhism. Its name comes from the name of the hill on which it was built. Kopan has become especially famous for teaching Buddhism to visiting Western foreigners.
