Nirekha Peak Climbing is an exciting adventure located in the Khumbu region just east of the Cho La Pass. Entailing mesmerizing Himalayan background, adventurous treks and exciting Sherpa culture, the peak climbing journey is a delight to undertake. Although established recently, the peak climbing is generating more interests because of the generous accumulation of hallmarks of the region. Trekking through glaciers, moraines and high altitude passes, this is sure to be a lifetime experience for any adventure enthusiast.

Nirekha Peak Climbing starts with your arrival in Kathmandu. After a short stay in the valley, the trip begins. During your stay, you will be visiting the UNESCO World Heritage namely Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and Swayambhunath. From Kathmandu, you fly to Lukla and then start the trek to Phakding. The trail takes you through the beautiful rhododendron forests and traditional Sherpa villages like Pangboche, Pheriche, and Dhole. You spend a day for acclimatization at Namche Bazaar which is a fascinating tourist site. Along with Buddhist monastery and Sherpa museum, this place carries years of mountaineering history and the legacy of the heroic Sherpas. You hike to Gokyo Ri (5360m) and explore the Gokyo lakes during your second acclimatization period before the climb. The trail to the top consists of glacial moraines, rocks, and snow but the climb is worth it, as from the top you get to see the breathtaking views of mountains like the Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse (8,414 m), Makalu (8,463 m), Nuptse (7,861 m) and many others. This entire journey along with the hike to Kala Patthar provides wonderful mountain views of the Everest ranges as well. During this trek, you will also be rewarded with the heart-warming hospitality and beautiful culture of the Sherpa. September - December, and March-May are considered the best months for this trek. Although the trek route is of moderate difficulty, only experienced climbers should attempt this climb as it requires technical mountaineering skills.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport 

The trip begins with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Our company representative will welcome you at the airport. Then, you will be transferred to the hotel. Overnight stay at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Full day Sightseeing Tour and stay overnight in Hotel.
Today, you will go on a sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu valley. Our private car will take you around the Kathmandu valley. You will visit Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath on the tour. These places are the world heritage sites in the city and are highly revered as culturally and religiously adorned monuments. You also make sure that you have all the equipment necessary for the journey. Overnight stay at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2840m/45mins and trek to Phakding 2610m/3hrs,
Today you take a 45 min flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. You meet the rest of the crew in Lukla and then start the trek to Phakding. You leave behind Lukla and pass through Mani walls to reach Nurning. You follow the downhill trail and reach the small village of Phakding on the bank of Dudh Koshi River. Overnight stay at a lodge at Phakding.

Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3440m/6hrs,
You walk through the beautiful pine forests then along the Dudh Koshi River. If the weather is clear you can get a glimpse of the Mount Everest (8848m) over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. You continue the walk to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo and then make your way to Namche Bazaar. Namche is known as the gateway to Everest and is the major trading center of the Khumbu region. Overnight stay at a lodge at Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day; hike to Everest View Hotel and surrounding hills, 
This is the day for acclimatization. You hike to the Everest View Hotel from where you can see the views of like the Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse (8,414 m), and Nuptse (7,861 m), and many other peaks. Then, you head down to Namche Bazaar and explore the town. There are a monastery and a famous Sherpa museum in Namche which offer insight into the history and culture of the region. Overnight stay at a lodge at Namche Bazaar.

Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dhole 4110m/6hrs, 
Walking through the beautiful pine and rhododendron forest via Tengboche you reach Dhole. On the way to Tengboche, you make a brief stop and visit the Tengboche monastery which is the largest in the Khumbu region. The trek trail follows Imja River and goes through rhododendron forests to make way towards Dhole. Overnight stay at a lodge at Dhole. 

Day 7: Trek from Dhole to Machhermo 4470m/5hrs, 
Today’s trek is easy and consists of beautiful scenes of the snowcapped mountains. You cross several villages and enjoy the views of the Everest (8,848 m), Cho Oyu (8,188 m), Lhotse (8,414 m) and Khumbu glacier before reaching Machhermo. You pass through Lhabarma and Luza villages which are beautifully decorated with prayer flags and monasteries. Overnight stay at a lodge at Machhermo.

Day 8: Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo 4790m/6hrs, 
You climb through a ridge Chorten from where you can see the views of north part of Cho Oyu (8,188 m) and Kantega (6,782 m). Beyond the ridge, the valley widens and the trail reaches Pangka. After a gentle walk, you make a steep ascend to reach the first lake, Longponga Tso, followed by Taujung Tso to reach Gokyo. Overnight stay at a lodge at Gokyo.

Day 9: Acclimatization Day, hike to Gokyo Ri 5360m,
Today is another full day for acclimatization. You will take short hikes around the region and also walk up to Gokyo Ri (5360m). The hikes will also include visits to the three remaining lakes. The Scoundrel’s viewpoint provides fantastic views of the mighty Himalayas of the Everest region. After spending some time at the top, you return back to Gokyo. Overnight stay at a lodge at Gokyo.

Day 10: Trek from Gokyo to Dragnag 4700m/3hrs, 
Following the ascending trail along the glacial moraine, you arrive at Dragnag. Dragnag is also known as the Cho La Pass base camp. During this journey, you will be accompanied with the views of Makalu (8,463 m), Lhotse (8,414 m), and neighboring peaks. You also walk through pasturelands and hints of alpine vegetation to reach Dragnag. Overnight stay at a lodge at Dragnag.   

Day 11: Trek from Dragnag to Nirekha Base Camp 4950m/6hrs, 
From Dragnag, you gradually ascend, passing through the glaciers and rocky terrain towards Cho La Pass at 5,420 meters. The pass is an excellent viewpoint to observe the peaks like Ama Dablam (6856m) and Cholatse (6440m) among many others. From there, you follow a tiny trail that heads north and heads towards Nirekha Base Camp. Overnight stay at a tented camp at Nirekha Base Camp.

Day 12: Trek from Nirekha Base Camp to High Camp 5300m/6hrs, 
Leaving the base camp, you ascend for a few hours. The trail is covered with snow and will be very slippery which requires the use of ropes and crampons. You will be accompanied by beautiful views of the mountains throughout the climb to High Camp. After reaching a good altitude, you set up camp and take rest. Overnight stay at a tented camp at High Camp.

Day 13: Summit to Nirekha Peak 6159 and back to Base Camp 4950m/8hrs, 
Today is the big day. You wake up early in the morning and head towards the summit as you aim to reach there before noon. The guides and Sherpas will guide you through this entire journey. After reaching the summit, you will be rewarded with the views of like the Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse (8,414 m), Makalu (8,463 m), Nuptse (7,861 m) and many others in this mystical Everest region. You spend some time at the top and then head back to the base camp. Overnight stay at a tented camp at Nirekha Base Camp.

Day 14: Reserve Day for Climbing due to bad weather, 
If you cannot reach the summit on the 13th day due to bad weather or health problems, you can utilize this day and make the climb. This day is not required if you successfully make the climb on the scheduled day.

Day 15: Trek from Nirekha Base Camp to Dzongla 4830m/8hrs via Cho-La Pass, 
Today is a tough day of trekking. You head towards the Cho La Pass (5,420 m). The crossing of the Cho La Pass itself isn’t difficult, but it involves a glacier traverse on the eastern side. You need to be careful during the descent as the trail is very slippery. After crossing the pass you move downwards and arrive at Dzongla. Overnight stay at a lodge at Dzongla.

Day 16: Trek from Dzongla to Gorakshep 5140m/7hrs, 
You climb down from Dzongla and curve round through the wide riverbed and reach Lobuche. Up ahead, the trail to Gorakshep goes through the lateral moraine of Khumbu Glacier. You pass through the rocky dunes, moraines, and streams and reach Gorakshep. The trail also passes through Pyramid village and cross Lobuche pass (5110m) before arriving at Gorakshep. Overnight stay at a lodge at Gorakshep.

Day 17: Hike to Kala Patthar 5550m and back to Pheriche 4240m/6hrs, 
In the morning, you hike to Kala Patthar which translates to “Black Rock’’ in Nepali. This is a great site to witness the mesmerizing sunrise over the Himalayas. From here, you also get the panoramic views of the Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse (8,414 m), Makalu (8,463 m), Ama Dablam (6,856 m) and many others. After an hour of enjoying the scenic pleasure, you head back to Pheriche. Overnight stay at a lodge at Pheriche.

Day 18: Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche 3860m/5hrs, 
You descend to Tengboche following the route along Imja River. You pass through Sherpa villages of Pangboche and Debuche before reaching Pheriche. Upon arrival at Tengboche, you can visit the Tengboche monastery which is the largest one in the Khumbu region. Tengboche is also a great place to observe the Sherpa culture and lifestyle. Overnight stay at a lodge at Pheriche.

Day 19: Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar 3440m/6hrs, 
Leaving Tengboche behind, you trek along the hillside blanketed by rhododendron and juniper trees. You reach Phunki Tenga and follow the Imja River. After crossing the prayer flag festooned bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, you descend through the forests and pass a Chorten to reach Namche Bazaar. The charming village welcomes you with the backdrop of majestic mountains. 

Day 20: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla 2840m/7hrs, 
Today is the last day of your trekking adventure. You follow the same route down and pass through the dense forests. You will exit the Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. En route you also encounter many prayer flags and Chortens and observe the Sherpa lifestyle. Upon arrival at Lukla, you will have plenty of time to relax. Overnight stay at a lodge at Lukla.

Day 21: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel. Refreshment and relax.
You take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu bidding farewell to the Himalayas. After some rest at the hotel, you can head out and do some souvenir shopping in the local marketplaces. If there is ample time, you can visit some of the famous tourist destinations around the valley. Overnight stay at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 22: Final Departure to Kathmandu International Airport for your further Destination.
The 22-day trip comes to an end. You will be accompanied by our company representative to the airport for the scheduled flight to your destination.
