Days: 11 / Difficulty: 3 of 5 (Moderate to strenuous)
Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking starts either from Dhunche or Syabrubesi and passes through Goljung, Gatlang, Chilime, Thuman, Timure and Briddim. The trail may end back in Syabrubesi or follow the Langtang trek from Briddim village via Khanjim. Goljung and Gatlang are traditional Tamang villages. While Goljung has ancient monastery, Gatlang set high on a hillside among terraced fields is the Tamang settlement. One can also visit a Tamang monastery and the beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. From the viewpoint at Bahundanda near these settlements, one can also see a panoramic view of Lantang, Kerung, and the Ganesh Himal, Sanjen Himal ranges.
Itinerary in details
Day 1; Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and you will be met at the airport by our representative who will be waiting with a Swiss Family Treks sign outside the terminal and transfer to Hotel by private car. Welcome drink and after you settle into the hotel there will be a group briefing with your tour leader. He will discuss the trek details and co-ordinate any last minute arrangements. Stay overnight at Hotel.
Day 2: Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley by private van.
After brekafast in the hotel, Drive to Swayambhunath Stupa which is very close form the centre of Kathmandu. It takes some minutes to be there. This Temple is also known as Monkey Temple which is considered to be self made Stupa. Then visit to Boudhanath Stupa: the biggest stupa in Nepal and one of the bigger stupa in the world. You can basically experience Tibetan Buddhism, culture and way of life in Boudhanath Area. Boudhanath area is the authentic place to buy Tibetan stuffs. Again you will be visit Pashupatinath Temple and it is one of the most sacred temples in the entire Hindu world. It is a sacred place where Hindus come to die and to be cremated. The temple of Pashupatinath is a large double roofed, gilt pagoda, decorated with brass, the gateway is plated with silver. There are images of Shiva along with other statues, shrines and temples dedicated to other deities in the complex. A circuit of the Pashupati area takes visitors past a sixth-century statue of the Buddha, an eight-century statue of Brahma the creator and numerous other temples. There are rows of Shiva shrines and Hindu pilgrims from all over south Asia offering ceremonies to worship Shiva, the Lord of Destruction. Stay overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3; Having breakfast at 0600hours and then start drive to Langtang. Lunch you will have in Trisuli in the Thakali restaurant. Arriving in Syabru Besi (2720m) at about 1600 hours.
Day 4; Your trek starts today. You walk on the old main road to Ronga and have lunch there. That's the hard part till the lunch break. After lunch you head down to Chilime (1762m), where you stay overnight. You'll be arriving there late afternoon. Stay in a nice guesthouse.
Day 5; Start from Chilime to Gongang and have lunch. That is again a steep way, so take your time and go slowly. Go on to Tatopani (2607m), which means hot water. You will be there at around 1530 hours, so you'll have enough time to enjoy the hot water spring. Stay overnight in a guesthouse.
Day 6; From Tatopani trek to Brimdang (2848m) and have lunch there. That is quite an easy part mostly straight. After lunch hike up to Nagthali (3165m). That is the super roundview point of the trek. You have a 360* Panorama. Seeing Tibet, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal and so on. You'll be reaching there by 1600hours. Stay over night.
Day 7; Today it goes mostly down. From Nagthali you have the choice to go back to Syabru Besi or walk on to Thuman (2338m) or Dalphedi and have lunch. After lunch walk down to Timure (1762m) and stay over night in a family lodge. If you wish to, enjoy the hot springs on the way! (if you want to and have the time to extend the trek, here is the right point. Stay in Timure two nights, so you can visit the chinese/tibetan border Rasuwaghadi (1814m). There is a nice market to see!)
Day 8; From Timure easy walking to Lingling and have lunch in the blue guesthouse. Now again you have two choices; one is going by the Langtang river back to Syabru Besi or hike up to Briddhim (2229m) and stay overnight. Briddhim is a nice developed village and there is a Tibetan refuge camp to see as well. You will arrive there at about 1530hours.
Day 9; Start from Briddhim to Kanjim (2235m), have lunch there or go further down to Wangal and have lunch in a little local house(which the guide knows very well). After lunch walk down to Syabru Besi. You'll be there around 1500hours. Stay over night in a guesthouse.
Day 10; Drive back to Kathmandu, have lunch on the way again in Trisuli, which is known as the best Dhalbhat. You'll reach Ktm at about 1530hours. Our service ends with the drop off at your hotel of choice.
Day 11: Final Departure from Kathmandu
Your trip will come to an end today after breakfast. Your leader will be on hand to advise and assist with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination.

* Personal Trekking Equipments like sleeping bags, jackets (can all be hired in KTM)
* Emergency Evacuation (Helicopter Rescue).
* Any costs which arise due to a change of the itinerary, because of landslides, political disturbance, andstrikes etc.
* Any other costs whatsoever, that is not mentioned in the cost included.
* Horse renting and additional porters during the trek.

Tipping is expected but it is not mandatory.
