Balthali Village starts in a small village which is a small sleepy settlement which rests at the junction of Roshi and Ladku Khola River. Balthali Village stands on a plateau which is just beyond Khopasi, 40km away from Kathmandu. The area surrounding the Balthali Retreat is thickly forested with luxuriant floras, colorful rhododendron, magnolia and Sal trees cover the hill that undulates and opens out to terrace fields. The trek in the pure village like this has a pleasant feeling and worth for knowing the village culture and also we can promote Village Tourism of Nepal. After dusk a myriad of flickering lights below the valley of Balthali Village comes alive. Nature lovers and bird watchers can spend days exploring and discovering some exceptional species of wildlife, tradition and culture untouched by modernity. This 'off the beaten location' has endless trials leading to some ethnic tribes thus, offering excellent short hikes and mountain biking on the easy trials. Many of the sacred and ancient temples and monasteries such as Namobuddha, Indreshwar Mahadev, Brahmayani Temples are located in this region and still needs to be discovered and unveil its mysterious past.
Itinerary in details
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and meet the SNFT representative at the Airport and transfer to Hotel. Welcome drink and relax.
Day 2: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley with Tour Guide by private car. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Namobuddha Monastery 1982m by private car and visit the ancient Buddhist Monastery of Namobuddha, the famous Buddhist Pilgrimage site where The Lord Buddha sacrifices his body to hungry Tigress and its Cubs. Walk from Namobuddha to Balthali Village 1730m passing the beautiful rice terraced fields. Overnight in Resort/Home-Stay.
Day 4: Today we will visit a typical Tamang village, Dada Gaun, where a Buddhist Community lives. It is very traditional and secluded from the modern world. Here people and animals live together side by side. We then walk to Pada Gaun (2100m), from where one can have extremely good views of the whole Himalayan range to north and beautiful green forest of Mahabharat. The walk on to Karnali, a hamlet of nature, and follow the banks of the Ladku River back to the Resort/Home-Stay
Day 5: Walk from Balthali to Khopasi 1400m and drive back to Kathmandu by private car with visit the tallest 108 feet statue of Lord Shiva on the way in Sanga, constructed at the initiative of Nepal’s Jain Community. Transfer to Hotel.
Day 6: Full day Sightseeing in Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Square with Tour Guide by private car and transfer to Hotel.
Day 7: Departure to International Airport.
