Section 7: From Jomsom to Juphal via Ghami Bhanjynag 5933m, Camping Trek 33 Days
Mustang is a remote, semi-independent Tibetan kingdom within the territory of Nepal (just north of the Annapurna Region on the Tibetan border), and one of the last bastions of undisturbed Tibetan culture in the world. Buddhist monasteries and nunneries are built into forbidding cliffs and mountain ledges, and the starkly beautiful, windy, arid Tibetan plateau is unbroken for many hours of trekking or riding on, horseback. The trek enters upper Mustang at Kagbeni, a quaint medieval town nestled in apple orchards and encircled by Snow Mountains. It eventually reaches the ancient capitol of Lo-Manthang, a walled city built of whitewashed mud bricks and teeming with Buddhist prayer wheels and Stupas, seeming to arise from the earth itself. Mustang trek lying in the rain shadow of the Himalayas is perhaps the last enclave of pristine Tibetan culture. Forbidden & isolated from the rest of the World it was able to evolve its own distinctive culture and traditional which is so rich & unique. Lo-Mustang, the capital is walled city ruled by religious king. Untouched by modern civilization, life in Mustang goes on as it has for centuries in unhurried pace. The trek traverses in high Ghami-La Pass and entering another remote hidden destination and most tranquil as well as natural beauty is still unexplored in the far west of Nepal. The noteworthy figure seen here are immaculate snowy peaks, ancient and isolated villages, rich wildlife, reliable Buddhist monastery and wonderful lakes. The people of this area are simple and warm-hearted with enthralling culture and traditions. The cultural traditions of this area are basically linked with Tibetan. Trekking into this region gives an exposure to the High & Isolated Himalayan valleys, resembling the Tibetan highlands. The major highlight of this trek includes “Shey Phoksundo National Park” which is the largest National Parks of Nepal. “Shey Phoksundo Lake” is another prominent factor of this region. The lake is totally free of aqua life, which the crystal waters clearly explain. Surrounded by rock, forests, and snow- capped peaks, the area has been described as one of the World's “Natural Hidden Wonders”.
Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu International Airport and meet with our company’s representative at the airport and transfer to Hotel. Welcome drink and short briefing about trip, relax.
Day 2: Full day Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley such as Swayambhunath Stupa, Bouddhanath Stupa, Kopan Monastery, Pashupatinath Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square with our Tour Guide by private car, overnight in Hotel.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara with A/C Tourist bus (6/7 hours) and transfer to Hotel.
Day 4: Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom 2720m (35 Min.) and trek to Kagbeni 2800m/3-4 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 5: Trek from Kagbeni to Tsaile 3100m/5-6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 6: Trek from Tsaile to Ghiling 3570m/6-7 hours via Ranchung Cave Monastery, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 7: Trek from Ghiling to Drakmar 3820m/5-6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 8: Trek from Drakmar to Lo-Manthang 3840m/7-8 hours via Ghar Gompa & Marang-La Pass 4230m, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 9: Exploring The Medieval Walled City, King’s Palace and Buddhist Monasteries, Overnight at tented camp.
Day 10: Trek from Lo-Manthang to Tsarang 3560m/4-5 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 11: Trek from Tsarang to Ghami 3510m/4-5 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 12: Trek from Ghami to Yak Kharka 4200m/6-7 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 13: Trek from Yak Kharka to Ghami-La Base Camp 5100m/6-7 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 14: Trek from Ghami-La Base Camp to Chharka Bhot 4110m/9-10 hours via Ghami-La Pass (Bhanjyang) 5933m, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 15: Trek from Chharka Bhot to Rapka 4535m/6-7 hours via Chharka Bhanjyang 5027m, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 16: Trek from Rapka to Tinje Gaon 4150m/7-8 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 17: Trek from Tinje Gaon to Shimen Gaon 3870m/5-6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 18: Trek from Shimen Gaon to Nisal Gaon 3750m/5-6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 19: Trek from Nisal Gaon to Saldang 3770m/5-6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 20: Trek from Saldang to Namgung 4430m/4-5 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 21: Trek from Namgung to Shey Gompa 4160m/5-6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 22: Trek from Shey Gompa to Nangda-La Phedi 4600m/4-5 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 23: Trek from Nangda-La Phedi to Phoksundo Khola 4316m/5-6 hours via Nangda-La Pass 5360m, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 24: Trek from Phoksundo Khola to Phoksundo Lake 3733 m/4-5 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 25: Exploring to Phoksundo Lake and surrounding hills, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 26: Trek from Phoksundo Lake to Rechi 2940m/4-5 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 27: Trek from Rechi to Chhepka 2838m/4-5 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 28: Trek from Chhepka to Dunai 2140m/5-6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 29: Trek from Dunai to Juphal 2475m/4-5 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 30: Fly from Juphal to Nepalganj and transfer to Hotel.
Day 31: Fly from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 32: Full day Sightseeing in Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square with our Tour Guide by private car, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 33: Departure to International Airport.
