This is one of the most remote trekking destinations in the far eastern part of Nepal. This trek offers impressive view of the mountains all the way to Milke Danda area. Especially Milke Danda is more popular area for different kind of flowers including the Nepal’s national flower rhododendron. This is long and high forest ridge that divides the Arun and Tamur valley in the eastern Nepal. You have a great view of Makalu, Kanchanjanga and other peaks. This trek leads through pleasant lowland country, up onto a remote, uninhabited ridge with fine mountain views of four of the world's five highest peaks. Those people who wish to experience isolated parts of Nepal once upon make an exceptional trek to untouched destinations. The most significant features of the regions offer you encounter with real Himalayan hubs, special experience about indigenous people's life style, diverse cultures, socio-economic situation as well as total sustainable eco-trekking. This Trekking lead to base camp of third highest peak of the world Mount Kanchenjunga which is least known among all great peaks. Exotic name such as Wedge peak, Pyramid Peak, Janu Himal, White Wave, and the Twins, of course, Kanchenjunga provides the inspiration to make the challenging trek to base camp. Our approach takes us up through terraced hillsides of the remoter ethnic group of Rai and Limbu and well-preserved forest of rhododendron, birch oak and spruce. Mount Kanchenjunga sits astride the Nepal/Sikkim border only a few miles from Tibet. This route was open to the trekkers in 1988, though people have trekked in the area in connection with mountaineering expedition since the turn of the century. The region is still restricted to organized expedition group only, special permit needed. An outstanding trekking route that lies amid the great peaks Kanchenjunga and Makalu is popularly know as Milke Danda trek. This is long and high forest ridge that divides the Arun and Tamur valley in the eastern Nepal. This trek offers you the composite package of varieties of culture, traditions, vegetation, geography and uninhabited ridge with fine mountain views of four of the world’s five highest peaks. The trek starts from Taplejung. Milke Danda ridge eventually ends in some high peaks, so we have to retrace our route back down Chainpur and ending the trek at Tumlingtar. There are huge forests of rhododendrons along the ridge. En route you will experience the excellent panoramic views of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Makalu (8463m) and Kanchenjunga (8586m world’s third highest peak) to the east. In addition, Tibetan life style, Yaks and cheese are other attractions of the area. Especially Milke Danda is popular for various kinds of flowers including the Nepal’s national flower-- rhododendrons.
Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu International Airport and meet with company’s representative at the airport and transfer to Hotel. Welcome drink and short briefing about trip, relax.
Day 2: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley such as Swayambhunath Stupa, Bouddhanath Stupa, Kopan Monastery, Pashupatinath Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square with our Tour Guide by private car, overnight in Hotel.
Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Taplejung 2420m and trek to Deurali 2602m/3 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 4: Trek from Deurali to Pathibhara Devi Temple 3795m/8 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 5: Exploring Hindus Temple and surrounding hill, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 6: Trek from pathibhara Devi Temple to Chirwa 1185m/7 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 7: Trek from Chirwa to Mitlung 890m/6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 8: Trek from Mitlung to Gorja 2010m/7 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 9: Trek from Gorja to Gupha Bazzar 2900m/6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 10: Trek from Gupha Bazzar to Milke Danda 3690m/8 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 11: Trek from Milke Danda to Deurali 1990m/7 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 12: Trek from Deurali to Khamare 1400m/6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 13: Trek from Khamare to Kharang 1270m/6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 14: Trek from Kharang to Tumlingtar 410m/6 hours, stay overnight at tented camp.
Day 15: Fly from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 16: Full day Sightseeing in Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square with our Tour Guide by private car, overnight in Hotel.
Day 17: Final Departure to Kathmandu International Airport.
