Salpa High Pass (Lukla to Tumlingtar) Lodge Trek, 15 Days
This superb trek takes us away from the more frequented trails. It begins with a mountain flight, which takes us to Lukla before heading into the beautiful and remote Arun Valley in the Eastern Everest region. An area astoundingly rich in flora and fauna, with numerous species of birds and animals found no where else in the country. From the fertile tropical valleys inhabited by Sherpa and Rai peoples we cross the Salpa Bhanjyang pass to reach the Dudh Kosi Valley, the home land of Sherpa people. Using the Arun valley as an alternative exit, the route leaves the main Everest trail at Kharte, the village above Khari Khola. It generally travels south east crossing the major rivers in the area, the Hindu Khola and the Hongu Khola, and two high passes, the Pangkoma La (3350 meters) and the Salpa La (3350 meters). Both of these passes give good views of the mountains to the north. The scenery along the trail ranges from mixed farming land and scattered Sherpa and Rai villages to stands of forest including rhododendron and oak.
Salpa Pass Arun Valley Trekking mixes up the pleasure of remoteness, adventure andnatural beauty. The Salpa Pass Arun Valley trail links the Khumbu (Everest) region with the unique ecosystem of the Arun Valley which lies in Makalu-Barun National Park area. The Salpa Pas Arun Valley trek begins at Lukla and ends at Tumlingtar from where we fly back to Kathmandu.
Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and meet with SNFT representative at the airport and transfer to Hotel. Welcome drink and short briefing about Trekking, relax.
Day 2: Full day Sightseeing Trip in Kathmandu Valley with our well trained Tour Guide by private car, overnight in Hotel.
Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2840m and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 4: Trek from Lukla to Kharte 2680m/6hrs and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 5: Trek from Kharte to Pangum 2850m/5hrs and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 6: Trek from Pangum to Najingdingma 2650m/6hrs and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 7: Trek from Najingdingma to Bung 1900m/7hrs and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 8: Trek from Bung to Sanam 2850m/7hrs and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 9: Trek from Sanam to Phedi 1680m/8hrs and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 10: Trek from Phedi to Gothe Bazzar 775m/6hrs and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 11: Trek from Gothe Bazzar to Chyawabesi 250m/6hrs and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 12: Trek from Chyawabesi to Tumlingtar 460m/4hrs and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 13: Fly from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 14: Full day Sightseeing Trip in Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Square with our Tour Guide by private car, stay overnight in Hotel.
Day 15: Final Departure to International Airport for your further destination.

* Items and expenses of personal nature.
* Any kind of alcoholic drinks, cold drinks, laundry, phone call, internet.
* Personal Trekking Equipments like sleeping bags, jackets (can all be hired in KTM)
* Emergency Evacuation (Helicopter Rescue).
* Any costs which arise due to a change of the itinerary, because of landslides, political disturbance, and
strikes etc.
* Any other costs whatsoever, that is not mentioned in the cost included.
* Horse renting and additional porters during the trek.

Tipping is expected but it is not mandatory.

There will be a cancellation fee of 25% for any cancellation three weeks prior to Tour departure date, 50% two weeks prior to Tour departure date and no refund thereafter. No refund for no shows & delay arrivals whatsoever reason.
