Located close to the Khumbu Glacier region, the Lobuche East Peak rewards us with the adventurous climb to the top while continually offering glorious views of the peaks in the region. Lobuche East Peak Climbing is the most popular trekking trail in the Everest region. Lobuche Peak can be climbed either from the east or the west side of the peak offering unique and challenging trail along the verdant landscapes. 

Lobuche Peak which lies in the northern side of the Khumbu region offers a challenging and difficult trail to the Mountaineers. The trail starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. It leads us to one of the busy trails of Khumbu region that is along the Namche Bazaar crossing some of the tranquil villages with the views of Kusum Khangkaru (6367m), Kongde Ri (6168m), Thamserku (6608m) and other neighboring peaks of Khumbu region. We will get a chance to walk along the Sagarmatha National Park which preserves the beautiful and endangered flora and faunas of this region. We will encounter many old and famous monasteries along our way. This trek contains almost all the hallmarks that one can possibly enjoy in the Everest region. The journey incorporates trek to Everest Base Camp and the famous Tengboche monastery. Lobuche Peak climbing provides us with the mystical cultural tour along with the sublime experience of mountaineering. One needs to have some technical knowledge of mountaineering and must follow the safety guidelines given by our trekking guide. The peak climbing is a magnificent journey which runs through the veins of the Everest region and introduces the proud Sherpa culture, radiant mountains, and serene trails.

Important Notice for domestic flight to and from Lukla
Due to avoid air traffic congestion at Kathmandu Airport and for smooth flights operation, the Lukla flights shall be operated from Ramechhap (Manthali) Airport effective from Spring (April 1 to May 31, 2024) and Autumn (October 1 to November 30, 2024).

In this matter, you need 1 buffer day to manage all transfer to and from Manthali Airport (OR we adjust the program on Day 2 that you will do the guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu and later in the afternoon, transfer to Mulkot). We would like to suggest you for driving to Mulkot which is 3 hours driving away from Kathmandu and spend a night there at a hotel, then next morning an hour of driving brings you at Manthali Airport to catch the flights to Lukla. On return, you can fly to Manthali Airport and same day drive back to Kathmandu.

Lobuche East Peak Climbing Itinerary 
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1338m

On your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our staff members will pick you up and escort you to the hotel. You can spend the rest of the day as you please. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley by private vehicle
Today, you will go on the full day guided sightseeing tour. You will head towards the Boudhanath Stupa, which is the largest Stupa of South Asia. You will then visit one of the holiest temples of Hindus, Pashupatinath Temple. From here, you will move towards the Swayambhunath Stupa, which is also popularly known as Monkey Temple. All of these monuments are the part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2840m/35 minutes and trek to Phakding 2610m/3 hours 
We will catch a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. It will nearly take 30-45 minutes over the lush green valleys and towering peaks to take us to the beautiful Tenzing-Hillary airstrip of Lukla. The flights to Lukla are often canceled or delayed. We also cover for such occasions with suitable options. After resting for a while, we walk along the farmlands and tranquil villages on our way to the beautiful Phakding village located by the bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Overnight at a Lodge in Phakding.

Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3440m/6 hours
Our trail mostly passes through the bank of Dudh Koshi River and crosses the some of the suspension bridges before reaching the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. We hike up to the forests acting as a safe haven for the myriad of animals and plants. We cross a large bridge and walk uphill until reaching Namche Bazaar. It is a beautiful market area of Khumbu region with the view of almost all the Himalayas of this region. Overnight at a Lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day - hike to Hotel Everest View 3880m
This day will be reserved for acclimatization and rest. To better acclimatize to the Khumbu region we will do short hiking to avoid the altitude sickness when we climb further. We will hike up to the Sherpa Museum and learn about the floras, faunas, culture, festivals, and ethnicity of this region. From there, we will climb up to the Everest View Hotel where we can enjoy the beautiful views of the Mount Everest (8848.86m) from the verandahs in the hotel. In the evening, we will return back to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at a Lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche 3860m/5 hours 
We will trek to Tengboche which houses the famous Tengboche Monastery. Today, the trail mostly passes through the coniferous and rhododendron forests with the beautiful views of the mountains like Mt. Everest (8848.86m), Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8414m), Thamserku (6608m) and Kongde Ri (m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). We will descend towards the Imjaste River at Phunke Tenga and have our lunch. After the short break, we will continue along the uphill trail to Tengboche. Overnight at a Lodge in Tengoche.

Day 7: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche 4410m/5 hours
Today we will descend along the birch and rhododendron forests to the bridge over the Imja Khola. The trail will gently ascend from here and lead us the last permanent village before the Everest base camp, Pangboche. From here we will ascend further leaving the tree line below to the exposed and open landscapes of Dingboche. Overnight at a Lodge in Dingboche. 

Day 8: Acclimatization day - hike to Chhukhung-Ri 5550m 7 hours 
We use this day to acclimatize ourselves to high altitude. However, we can go for a hike to Chhukhung-Ri. Hiking up on a rocky terrain, we walk for a couple of hours to reach a small village of Chhukhung. We then hike for another couple of hours to reach Chhukhung-Ri. The view of Lhotse, Makalu, Taboche, and Island peak is simply breathtaking from this viewpoint. We return to Dingboche. Overnight at a lodge in Dingboche.

Day 9: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche 4910m/5 hours
The path today gently and slowly climbs through the glacier. Initially, we will follow the trail to Dzongla which is the junction of Lobuche, Pheriche, and the famous Cholatse pass. Enjoying the stunning views of mountains like Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori, Ama Dablam (6856m) and as far to Mt. Makalu (8463m) towards east and tips of Mt. Cho Oyu (8188m) in the west, we will climb the debris of the Khumbu Glacier and reach the small settlement the Lobuche. Overnight at a Lodge in Lobuche.

Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep 5140m/3 hours and afternoon explore to Everest BC 5365m/5 hours 
The trail from Lobuche to Gorakshep will be challenging due to sudden height gain. We will slowly ascend along the icy ridgelines of the rocks, enjoying the beautiful views of Mt. Pumori (7165m), Khumbutse (6665m) and Mt. Everest world’s highest peak at 8,848.86 meters to Gorakshep. From Gorakshep, we will continue along the moraines with the eye-catching views of the Khumbu icefall to Everest Base Camp. After spending some time there and enjoying the beautiful views we will descend back to Gorakshep and then overnight at a Lodge in Gorakshep.

Day 11: Early morning hike to Kala Patthar 5550m/2 hours and trek to Lobuche 4910m/2 hours 
In the early morning, we will leave for Kala Patthar. An early morning hike for about 2 hours will take us to Kala Patthar which is a famous viewpoint of Khumbu region. We can enjoy the magnificent view of the rising sun over the mountains of the Khumbu region. After spending some time there we will head towards the trail leading toward Lobuche which offers us the stunning views of Ama Dablam (6856m), Cholatse (6635m), Thamserku (6608m), and Kangtega (6685m) among many others. Overnight at a Lodge in Lobuche.

Day 12: Trek from Lobuche to Lobuche East Peak High Camp 5400m/5 hours
We will mostly climb along the rocky moraines to reach the Lobuche East Peak High Camp. It will almost take us five hours to reach the High Camp. The path gets steep and slippery on many occasions so, caution is advised. The sublime Himalayas will keep us company throughout the trek today. On reaching there, we will also do some mountaineering practice. Overnight at a tented camp in Lobuche East Peak High Camp.

Day 13: Summit to Lobuche East Peak 6119m and back to Pheriche 4240m/8-10 hours
Today, we will summit the Lobuche East peak with the guidelines of the experts. We will slowly climb the steep ascending trail crossing paths that require technical guidelines. Our guide will help us with the use of trekking gears. On summiting the peak, we will be rewarded with the mesmerizing views of the mountains like Mt. Everest (8,848.86 m), Lhotse (8,414 m), Mt. Ama-Dablam (6,856 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m) in the far distance. After spending some time there we will descend back to the high camp and then continue trek down to Pheriche. Overnight at a Lodge in Pheriche.

Day 14: Reserve Day for Climbing due to bad weather
The weather can be unpredictable in these mountainous regions. We attempt the climb on this day if we are unable to scale the peak on the summit day. We can use this day for second attempt for summit, otherwise this day can be used as free day wherever you prefer to stay when you coming down to Lukla or you can make shorter trekking days for downhill walking. Overnight at a Lodge in Pheriche.

Day 15: Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche 3860m/4 hours
Descending along the ridgeline we will reach the village Pangboche. Bidding farewell to the Lobuche peak, we will descend along the forests and cross a suspension bridge to reach the Tengboche which is a famous place in the Khumbu region. We can explore the areas and observe the lifestyle of the inhabitants. Overnight at a Lodge in Tengboche.

Day 16: Trek from Tengboche to Monjo 2835m/6 hours 
Our way descend along the Imja Khola to Phunke Tenga and continue along the forested path to Namche Bazaar. We will retrace the similar path and reach to Namche Bazaar. The trail descends along the Dudh Koshi River to the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park. We come across porters, yaks, and Dzongs as we head towards Namche Bazaar. Overnight at a Lodge in Monjo.

Day 17: Trek from Monjo to Lukla 2840m/5 hours
Today will be our last walk along this beautiful region. Recalling the experiences of the recent journey, we will descend back to Lukla from Monjo via Phakding retracing the path we previously ascended. Crossing Mani walls, prayer wheels and rivers on multiple occasions, we arrive at Lukla. Overnight at a Lodge in Lukla.

Day 18: Early morning fly from Lukla to Kathmandu 35 minutes 
In the early morning, we will leave for Kathmandu. We will catch a scenic flight from Lukla crossing very fine and lush valleys. On reaching Kathmandu we will transfer to the Hotel. You can spend the rest of the time in the valley by opting to explore and shop or rest.  Overnight at a 4-star Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Final Departure to Kathmandu International Airport for your further Destination
Today we will drive you to the Tribhuvan International airport for your scheduled flight bidding you goodbye.
