The classical Everest trek from Jiri to Everest Base Camp starting in Jiri was very popular before the Lukla Airfield was opened. This route was trekked by many expeditions  to climb the mountains of Khumbu Himal with Mt. Everest at the head of the list.  This is the classic Everest trek. We will experience an unbeatable combination of natural beauty and cultural splendor. The immense contrasts in altitudes, type of vegetation and mix of lifestyles are the main highlight of this trek. One can enjoy beautiful mountains views, verdant terraces and Himalayan streams and water falls as the trail crosses through villages and landscapes covered by rhododendron, magnolia and giant forests. The trek from Jiri involves a tremendous amount of up-and-down walking. A glance at a map will show why. All the rivers in this part of Nepal flow south from Himalayan glaciers, but the trek route proceeds east. Therefore the track must climb to the ridge that separates two rivers, descend to the river itself, and ascend the next ridge. Even though the trek begins at an elevation of 1860m, on the sixth day it crosses the Dudh Koshi at only 1500m – after considerable uphill (and downhill) walking . If we total all the uphill climbing, it comes to almost 10,000m of elevation gain from Jiri to Everest base camp. This trek has a number of stunning attractions, cross over small three high passes like Deurali Pass 2705m, Lamjura-La Pass 3530m and Thaksindo-La Pass 3071m before reaching the Lukla. It’s long and strenuous but the trek takes you through spectacular mountain country and beautiful villages. The primary trail is following the Dudh Kosi River and its tributary, the Imja Khola, passes through Namche Bazaar, the largest settlement, where most of the trekkers take a day off to acclimatize, and Tengboche village with its great mountain views and famous ancient Buddhist Monastery. This trek gives to you the opportunities of summit in Chhukung-Ri, Kalapathar and Gokyo-Ri for the magnificent view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu, Makalu, Nuptse and Ama Damlam. Then a visit to Everest base camp will give you the chance to have a closer look at the spectacular Khumbu Icefall and Glacier. The traversing across the high Cho-La pass gives to you in the highest elevation.

Highest elevation: 5545m
Trek style: Lodge/Tea House trek
Major Attraction: Ancient Old Buddhist Monasteries, Everest View Hotel, Chhukung-Ri, Everest BC, Kalapathar view Point, Cho-La Pass, Gokyo Lake, Gokyo-Ri, Khumbu Glacier and Ngozumbha Glacier and world’s highest mountains ranges, Ethnic culture of Sherpa, Scenic Landscapes and beautiful villages etc.
