Classic Langtang Valley and Gatlang Lodge Trek, 20 Days
Langtang is towards the north of Katmandu and just south of the Tibetan border. It is sandwiched between the main Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. To the west of Langtang is Ganesh Himal with peaks between 6,000 to 7,000 meters. The name Langtang is originates from two different words ‘Lang’ and ‘Tang’. Lang means Yak and Tang means to follow. Having trek to Langtang reflects you the unique possibility to watch Nepalese of west to east Himalaya. Langtang and its several peaks along with fresh water lakes of this region such as Gosai Kunda, Saraswati Kunda, Parvati Kund and many other small lakes situated at the height of more than 4300m will create manifold interest and enthusiasm toward nature. Langtang region is the second largest conserved National Park of Nepal enriched by 1000 species of flora and 150 different species of birds and many wild animals such as Tigers, beers, deer, and Wild sheep. This region is full of mountains: Langtang Lirung (7246m), Gang Chhenpo (6388m), Naya Kangri (5846m) and Dorje Lakpa (6966m).
Gatlang Trek is a new trekking route in the Ganesh Himal area, North of Kathmandu. This is also known as Tamang Heritage Trail Trek in this region. In a bid to encourage young people from different corners of the world to visit Nepal for their outdoor interests, Tourism Authorities of Nepal had been looking at different potentials and in this connection, Government of Nepal recently announced the opening of this new trekking route, named after the founder of International scouts, “Lord Baden Powell”. The trekking route had been opened for foreigners since 2004, but had rarely been approached by tourists. In 2007, Explore Himalaya organized the first ever expedition along this trekking route, for the International scouts in order to commemorate Lord Baden Powell. A true insight into the Tamang culture, Active interaction with the local population, experiencing their genuine warmth and welcome. The visit of the picturesque village of Gatlang with its many colours, traditional dresses and typical dances A reception. The wildlife around the secret lake of " Parbati Kunda ". A stroll along " Rasuwa Gadi ", another form of the famous Chinese Wall. Maybe just a little more than a glimpse on the Tibetan market "Kamba Tar" on the other side of the border. The hot bath with water from the hot springs of Tatopani. Itinerary in details
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and meet with SNFT representative at the airport and transfer to Hotel. Welcome drink and relax.
Day 2: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley with Our Tour Guide by private car. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche 2030m (5/6 hours) via Trisuli by private car (Land Cruiser). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 4: Trek from Dhunche to Thulo Syabru 2210m (5/6 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 5: Trek form Thulo Syabru to Lama Hotel 2410m (5/6 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 6: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village 3330m (5/6 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 7: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa 3730m (3/4 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 8: Acclimatization day: Hike to Tsergo Ri 4984m (5/6 hours) or Explore to Langshisa Kharka 4160m (6/7 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 9: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel 2410m (5/6 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 10: Trek from Lama Hotel to Sherpa Gaon 2563m (2/3 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 11: Trek from Sherpa Gaon to Briddhim 2229m (5/6 hours). Overnight in Home-Stay.
Day 12: Trek from Briddhim to Timure 1762m (4/5 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 13: Explore to Rasuwagadhi 1814m (2 hours) and back to Timure. Overnight in Lodge.
Day 14: Trek from Timure to Nagthali Gyang 3165m (5/6 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 15: Trek from Nagthali Gyang to Tatopani 2607m (3/4 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 16: Trek from Tatopani to Gatlang Village 2238m (5/6 hours). Overnight in Home-Stay.
Day 17: Trek from Gatlang Village to Syabrubesi1460m (5/6 hours). Overnight in Lodge.
Day 18: Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu (6/7 hours) by private car (Land Cruiser) and transfer to Hotel.
Day 19: Full day Sightseeing in Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Square with Tour Guide by private car. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 20: Departure to International Airport.
